The Houseboats are more like floating caravans than proper boats. We (2 adults, 3 kids aged 4 to 9) hired from Able Hawkesbury River Houseboats at a place called Wisemans Ferry (about 2 hours north of Sydney). We reserved a 4-beth, but it was very cramped so we upgraded to a 6-berth on arrival.
